COWGIRLS MAY LUNCHEON: MONDAY, MAY 12, 2025 at LITTLE AMERICA HOTEL, CHEYENNE

GUEST SPEAKER: MIKE KASSEL, Curator, CFD Old West Museum : History of the Wyoming Stock Growers Association

Please join us as Mike Kassel explores how the cattle industry was born in Wyoming, how the WSGA managed to achieve astronomical heights of power and wealth and navigate perilous lows to enter the 20th century as an organization filled with new potential for the years ahead.

It was in cattle that wealth first came to our territory and has since had a solid hold on our imagination. With the opportunity the new industry provided, so too did desire to protect and enlarge it. Several organizations were born to promote Wyoming’s cattle industry eventually culminating in the creation of the powerful Wyoming Stock Growers Association. Through the auspices of this magnificent organization, our territory thrived though some of the best economic times it has ever seen. As always, you won’t want to miss this presentation with Mike Kassel!
