COWGIRLS MARCH LUNCHEON: Monday, March 9th 11:30- 1:00, at LITTLE AMERICA HOTEL
GUEST SPEAKER - JACK MAUCK, AUTHOR OF HORSES I HAVE KNOWN AND THEIR PEOPLE
Jack has spent more than 60 years around horses- training them, caring for them, and living alongside them. In this book, he shares the stories of some of the most unforgettable horses he’s met along the way. From spirited colts to wise old mares, each horse has a story, and Jack tells them with the kind of humor and insight that only a lifetime of experience can bring. These are true stories of a life with horses- the moments that made him laugh, taught him patience, or showed him something new about himself. If you love horses or enjoy a good story, you’ll find a kindred spirit in Jack’s tales. Jack grew up in Buffalo, WY, where his grandfather taught him the value of hard work and sparked his love for horses. Before moving to Colorado in the 1960’s, Jack worked for the Forest Service in the Big Horns and at the Eaton Dude Ranch. In Colorado, Jack trained hundreds of colts, and whenever possible he loved taking young colts into the mountains, where they could learn lessons that no training facility could teach. Our Cowgirl member Carol Vermilye and Jack have known each other for years, and she says he is a hoot and a wonderful story teller. Be sure to come to this delightful luncheon and enjoy this fun presentation!
